I have been working on a little side project developing some thinking tools over the past couple of months and, in the spirit of sharing and collaborating, I am going to put the first couple of examples out into the ether for you to try. I have many more and if you like the concept, I will be happy to share!
Thinking and learning are invisible processes that happen inside of a learner’s head. We can elicit this thinking and help to make it visible by designing proxies for learning; artefacts that are designed to show understanding to another person. I have called these tools *thinking canvas* because that is exactly what they are. Each canvas contains a graphic organiser, thinking routine or other thinking strategy which, when combined with the right technology, allows learners to make their thinking highly visible to others, including their teachers and themselves.
I have chosen Google Slides and Google Classroom as the medium to develop these thinking canvases because, frankly, they are super simple to use, highly collaborative and there is no better medium (except maybe on Jamboard *raises eyebrow in quizzical thought*)
